Mikey’s Comeback: Help Support His Road to Recovery

On February 14th, my world changed forever. My dear brother was found unconscious and unresponsive on his office floor. After being rushed to the emergency room, doctors determined he had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and needed emergency brain surgery. My brother—my best friend, my role model, the person who has always been my rock—was now in the fight of his life.

After the initial surgery, Mikey underwent multiple additional procedures to stop the bleeding and control the damage. For nine painful days, we waited, prayed, and held onto every shred of hope we could gather. Then, on Sunday, February 23rd, a miracle happened—Mikey opened his eyes for the first time. It was truly a moment of pure joy and relief, but we knew it was only the beginning of a long and uncertain road.

Since that day, Mikey has shown a strength and determination that has left us in awe. From snapping his fingers to oldies music, to playing thumb war with us, he’s been fighting every day to regain what the stroke took from him, but the journey ahead is a long one. He faces months, of intensive rehabilitation, specialized therapies, and ongoing medical care. Each small victory reminds us of the incredible person he is and the life he’s determined to reclaim.

But this fight unfortunately has come with a cost—one that is far beyond what our family can bear alone. The expenses for his emergency neurosurgery, hospital stay, and the extensive rehabilitation he needs are overwhelming. As a family, we are doing everything we can, but we have realized.. we do need help.
