This fundraiser has been created to support Mikia during her road to recovery! Creating this campaign and asking for financial support has been challenging, but her workability declines as Mikia receives more chemotherapy treatments.

On July 19, 2022, Mikia’s life changed in the blink of an eye. She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Invasive Ductal Carcinoma- Stage 2A. Her treatment plan consists of chemotherapy treatments for 16 weeks; following a Lumpectomy (removal of cancer tumor). As a result of weekly chemotherapy treatments, oncology appointments, emergency room visits, and side effects from treatments- Mikia’s work hours reduced tremendously. Although she puts her best foot forward, she faces multiple side effects(fatigue, loss of appetite, weakness, body aches, neuropathy,etc) 1-3 days after chemotherapy sessions- which often result in not going to work or having the ability to maintain her regular life duties/ activities.

Mikia has received calls, texts, and social media messages asking how they can assist. Donating to this campaign will allow Mikia to stay on track with finances, provide for her children, maintain daily activities, and relieve financial stress. No amount is too small, as she will truly appreciate all support during this time. If you are unable to donate, we genuinely understand.
