Miko’s FiP Journey

Hello Animal Project Community! 3 year old Miko has been diagnosed with Dry FiP. We need to raise $3000 to cover his 12 week treatment.
$75 = Liquid gold. (One vial of the treatment)
$35= One injection (Buy Miko a shot!)
$20=Case of his favorite food (Friskies Beef Shreds) $10=Value Size Temptations Treats (his fave munchy snack)
$5=Chin Scratch (Miko’s favorite way to be pet )
Below is his story:
We rescued Miko back in 2021 when he was only 10 weeks old. He had a broken hip, and we successfully raised enough money to get him the surgery.
He recovered well and was adopted soon after with his adorable sister Misha. For two years they lived a happy and healthy life, until their family situation changed and the pair found themselves returned to our rescue (through no fault of their own!)
After only two weeks in foster care, Miko began to show signs of a serious mystery illness. He stopped eating, stopped playing, and lost the joyful twinkle in his spirit. We were watching him waste away before our very eyes. After 2 months of vet appointments and procedures, we have finally come to the diagnosis of Dry FiP. Talk about a hard first three years of life… hip surgery, losing your family, and now diagnosed with a terminal disease.
Feline Infectious Peritonitis is devastating. It is almost 100% fatal and there is no FDA approved treatment, which means our vet can’t help us. The good news is, THERE IS NOW A CURE! The treatment is 84 days of an antiviral injection- and we know how to get it! He started on the treatment March 5th and is already showing amazing signs of improvement! We feel more hope than ever! And his sister Misha is so excited to one day have her playful brother back to normal!
Each injection is around $35. $35 a day x 84 days = $2940.00
This doesn’t cover the supplies needed to administer injections, his special high calorie diet, the blood work every four weeks to track his progress, etc. He is also on 2 shots a day right now since his condition was extremely serious. We hope to go down to one a day in a week or so.
This is a long journey, but with the support of his amazing foster family, our rescue group, and your donations we can give Miko his best shot at recovery.
