Mila's College Fund in Honor of Roman Hardy

After the unexpected death of three-year old Roman Hardy, the community has rallied to honor his legacy. The Hardy family believes the best way to honor Roman's memory is to offer support to his twin sister, Mila, in the form of a college fund.

 

The Story:

Roman William and Mila Jay Hardy were born in the summer of 2018, after many obstacles. Devin and David wanted to start a family and were not immune to setbacks and struggles. After several years, they were blessed with not one, but two beautiful babies. The babies started their lives in the NICU and after several weeks, they grew strong enough to come home. These children have amazed all of their family and friends with their vibrant personalities. Roman was a happy boy, full of life and a love for dinosaurs, construction equipment and playing with his cousins and sister. The twins had recently started preschool. Roman's shining light brought joy and laughter to everyone he met.

 

Roman's official diagnosis was streptococcus pneumonia-associated hemolytic uremic syndrome. This virus started with cold-like symptoms which progressed rapidly into a serious infection that caused his organs to fail in just 25 hours. Roman passed away in the loving arms of his parents.

 

The family appreciates the outpouring of support during this time. We feel that the best way to do this is to shift our thoughts to Mila, and what we can do to best support her.

 

With these contributions, Mila will know that it is because of her brother, Roman, she will be able to continue her education.  This is a gift that Roman is giving to his sister.  Roman's presence will continue to live on  in all of our lives.
