Miles for Meghan/Run for Christi

I ran my first half marathon three years ago "jog for jugs", it was a benefit run for two local breast cancer survivors. I ran in honor of my mother who passed away from breast cancer. Less than a year later I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer.

My sister in-law and friends started "miles for Meghan" the following year. This was a "virtual run" in which people ran or walked where ever they were. Instead of a race entry fee, we asked people to donate to the breast cancer research foundation. We raised over $2,000 in 2015. We decided this should be an annual event and raised over $2,000 again in 2016 for the breast cancer research foundation.

This year I would like to have all donations go to my friend Christi.

Christi and my husband went to school together, she was in my brother Dan's class at CCHS and her sister Ann was a year behind me at CCHS. They are great people, great friends.

Christi began her cancer journey at the same time as I did. She is a wife and mother of two daughters (11 and 13 years old). Earlier this winter her breast cancer spread to her liver and a spot behind her eye. She recieves ongoing treament at Sloan Kettering in NYC, which often requires her to travel to the city weekly. These travel expenses are not covered by insurance.
 
 I've set up this go fund me site with the hopes of raising $3,000 for Christi from my friends near and far. So just as you all did in the past, donate your "entry fee" here and run or walk what you wish that day for Christi and all who continue to battle this devastating disease.
