Milestone 229

Donation protected
Milestone opened July 2011. It is a seasonal restaurant employing over sixty people during the summer.  They are best known for their large patio that overlooks the river and bicentennial park interactive fountain and a menu featuring a scratch kitchen with 3 chefs on duty.

They closed March 20th due to the Governor's order relating to COVID and
had planned on opening June 1, hoping to salvage some of the summer
months.  They have a new menu ready for the opening and did some maintenance to the restaurant interior while they were closed.
Food deliveries along with beer, wine and liquor had been delivered May
28 and 29.

The restaurant was attacked in the riots on the evening of the 29th and had extensive glass breakage that will delay their opening until at least the first or second week of July.  Much of their patio furniture was damaged or broken, the rioters were using the chairs and tables along with rocks to break the windows. Some entered the restaurant and stole liquor and also some china that they
also used to throw at the glass along with adjacent businesses.

The most detrimental impact of this event was on the employees of the restaurant who aren't able to come back to work during the busiest month.  Insurance will not cover all the damages to the restaurant nor account for the lost revenue during a very critical time.  We hope this fundraising campaign will help ease some of the burden on the employees and owner of this fantastic place!!
