Help Miley win her fight against cancer!
My name is Paula Asea. This campaign is for the furry love of my life, the goodest little girl, my sweet pride and joy, Ms. Miley.
Miley joined our family in Feb of 2014. She was the perfect, little playmate to our other Boston, Slugo. We lost Mr. Slugo a few years ago. Our world was shattered. Miley was shattered!! Since then, she's been an only dog and remains an only dog... she is queen of the roust.
As most pet parents will tell you, my dog is “not just a dog!!” Miley, is far from just a dog. She is the 3rd member of our family. She is my fur-baby and the center of my attention for the most part; now that my children are grown and need me less. Miley is silly and facetious. She’s intelligent, smart and witty. She's also a bit of a “bull in a China hutch.” There's not much grace in her step, but she thinks she's smooth.
Miley is without a doubt the best snuggle-bunny around!! She is my joy in life. When nothing else seems to be going right in my day, I look into her big brown eyes, and suddenly everything is doable. We can leave Miley at home alone, uncrated for the day and not have to worry about her chewing on stuff or going potty in the house. She's always been that way. Ms. Miley is my world. I would simply be lost without her!!
A month ago Miley was diagnosed with 2 mast cell tumors. They were both successfully removed via surgery. (both turned out to be low-level/grade II tumors.) However; during her surgery a 3rd cancerous tumor was discovered in her front paw. At this point the next step is to see the oncologist to discuss Miley's case and come up with a more accurate diagnosis and prognosis. We are hoping to avoid amputation of the paw if at all possible.
The cost of the surgery, which was $1,410.56, was fortunately covered by the generous donations we received up to that point. But, I still need to raise the remainder of the money necessary to reach our goal of $3,000 which is just shy of $500. All of that will go directly toward Miley's continued medical costs: fuel for the drive to Dublin, to see the oncologist, and back (twice), the fee of the initial oncology appt., and then the fee of any future appointments & treatment deemed necessary. By “necessary” I mean whatever treatment is best for Miley to live out the rest of her days in comfort.
I know a lot of us are really struggling right now to make ends meet. The cost of living has affected us all in a big way. But can I ask you all to do me a big favor and check your pockets and your handbags for any loose coins or dollar bills you might find, and consider donating them to Miley's Cancer Fund?
I am a firm believer in “pay it forward!” I always try to be a good Samaritan, a good friend and a good Christian, and help folks out whenever I can. Sometimes even when I can't. And now I’m counting on others to help me out in my time of need. Please?! I'm asking from the bottom of my heart. $1… $5… $20… whatever you can do would be so incredibly appreciated. I can't even tell you. Every dollar adds up... every nickel adds up!!
If you can't make a donation, we will take all the positive thoughts, healing energy & good juju you can afford to send us. I also believe in the power of prayer so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. And, please, share the heck out of Miley's post, and make it public if you can.
I appreciate all of you for taking the time to read this to the end. And, thank you to each and everyone in advance for your contribution, whatever that may be.
Peace, blessings and good health to you friends!! ♡♡♡

*UPDATE: 2/08/24*
First of all, I have to take a moment to thank each and every one of you folks who have already made a contribution; or two, to this campaign. Because of all of you, we are over 2/3 of the way to our original goal of $3,000. Less than $900 to go, but we only have until Feb. 26th to reach this goal.
I received some super exciting and optimistic news today. All tumor specimens sent out to the lab came back as being low-grade/grade II tumors. This means the cells are not as aggressive as they could have been, and that we have a little time to buy. With that being said, I’m hoping that how we approach the remaining tumor in Miley's paw won't have to be as invasive as feared. Of course, I have no definitive answers yet; nor will I until we see the oncologist.
Over the next two weeks… Miley will get her sutures removed Feb. 16th - if she hasn't ripped them out by then. And then on Feb. 27th we will make the trip to Dublin, to the Sage Center, to see the oncologist. There the doctor will examine Miley and her particular situation. And; fingers crossed, we'll come up with a promising prognosis and a concrete plan on how to handle the remaining tumor.
As you can see we still have a ways to go. The remaining funds available and all future funds acquired will go toward continued medical costs. These costs include, but are not limited to, fuel for the drive to Dublin and back (twice), the fee of the initial oncology appt., and then the fee of any future appointments & treatment deemed necessary. By “necessary” I mean whatever treatment is best for Miley to live out the rest of her days in comfort.
I still need all your help to reach the remaining $900 to bring us to goal. Please, if you haven't already; and even if you have, will you donate whatever you feel comfortable with to Miley's cancer fund. She's a sweet little dog and she deserves to be loved on for years to come.
And also, If you can, please share our fundraiser link https://gofund.me/a661e691 on all your social media platforms… please? Spreading the word is a huge help to us both as Miley continues to recover from surgery and gains her strength to jump the next hurdle. As always, prayers, healing energy, happy thoughts and good juju are accepted as well!!

Hi, I'm back with a quick update about Miley, and a new sense of urgency in our fundraising. Thursday’s surgery went as planned, and she is home all cozy in our bed recovering nicely and getting lots of extra love and treats.
However; we did not receive good news immediately following Miley’s surgery. They found another lump in her front paw during surgery and determined it to be cancer as well. The doctors were unable to remove it that day; however, due to its location. Removing it would require amputation of the paw. And that’s not even an option yet. Not until they send out the tumors to decide how aggressive they are. Long story, short, Miley has cancer in more spots than one. Next step is to make an appt with an oncologist at the Sage Center in Dublin, Ca. to discuss the lab results and a more accurate prognosis.
Funds are still gravely needed to continue covering the costs of: sending out the samples; gas for a trip to Dublin to see an oncologist; the oncology appt itself; and any subsequent care she receives, whether that be amputation, or steroids and other palliative care needs. I'd like to raise the remaining amount to bring us to our goal of $3,000 at least. That amount is $1,100+ if you're able. PLEASE, friends, check for any loose change you might have, and consider donating it to Miley's Fight Against Cancer Fund. Also, a quick “share” to your page would be appreciated.
Just as importantly, right now, Miley needs all your guys’ prayers and healing energy.✨️ Her comfort and quality of life is what’s most important to me.
At the end of the day, I’m heartbroken and can’t believe this is happening!! Miley is my world and I'll buy what precious time I can with her...
... providing her quality of life continues to be that of a princess!!
