Military Veteran Ken Koch’s Recovery
Donation protected

Hi, my name John Laub, and I met Ken Koch at a roofing conference back in 2017. I am raising funds for Ken as he just had a horrible accident at the end of last year. Ken lives in a camper home that he pulls behind his truck. He owes $18,500.00 on his truck and I would like to see if we can raise the money to pay that off. He can not afford his bills, hospital bills, and transportation since his accident. The money will go right into Ken’s account from GoFundMe.
Ken was driving in Montana helping a fellow roofing company when the shift linkage in his truck came loose and forced him to the side of the road. He started to fix the issue but the truck started to roll backward and he couldn’t get out of the way fast enough. The truck rolled over his head. The state police and life support got him in a helicopter to Billings, Montana. Before the rescue got there, he had to put his eyeball back in the socket as it came out. He ended up dying twice in the helicopter on the way to the hospital. Ken spent 95 days in the ICU and when he woke up he was tied to the bed so he wouldn't hurt himself when he woke up. You see, Ken had shattered every bone in his skull, broken his jaw in 3 places, broken the molars in his mouth, shattered his spine at the base of his skull, and broke his left shoulder. Once he woke they flew him to Minnesota VA Hospital where he spent another 20 days in ICU. Because of his eye and all that he went through he can not work and gets migraines, has double vision, and it’s even hard to do little tasks like text or type.
Ken is a veteran and a father. He always took care of guys in his unit and raised his 15-year-old boy by himself until the accident.
Because Ken knows me as a Christian and always followed my posts, he wanted to tell me the story of when he died. He said he sat down with Jesus for 3 hours talking about the bible from the beginning of time. Jesus told him that he gave him broad shoulders for a reason and he wanted Ken to go back and tell his story. Ken said that Jesus told him that His Love was far greater than Ken's mistakes. Ken said that he was so comfortable and at peace even though he was a Christian that now he knows things in the Bible he never knew. I love hearing Ken’s story about Jesus and him talking and he will tell you that he remembers everything about it. Ken has a charity he was starting called Un-Named Cross to help families who are dealing with a PTSD Veteran or have lost their veteran family member due to suicide or another death.
When Ken was in ICU for 4 months, people who he thought were friends sold or stole everything he owned. If we can raise the money to pay off his truck it will be a massive relief. Even at the VA as a veteran, he has a massive amount of hospital bills and medical expenses due. I would just love if we could get his truck paid for and relieve some of the pressure. He fought in many battles for our freedom!
Thank you so much for your help!
