Milky (Jiah) Shabash Poya Spinks-Summerell

On behalf of Milky and his family we are asking for your help big or small, to support a beautiful family in need.

On the 22nd of October, Milky and his friends were attending a fun, challenging obstacle course. What was supposed to be a day full of fun, laughter and great memories, turned into a nightmare that we could never forget. Unfortunately Milky broke his neck on the first obstacle, which led to him being airlifted to Brisbane. So far Milky has undergone two major spinal surgeries and is currently considered a quadriplegic. He is looking at a minimum of 12 months in hospital with intensive rehab, however this will affect him and his family for the rest of their lives.

Milky works as a carpenter and is the main income earner of the household. Milky has three beautiful children, Amelia 8, Oakley 4 and Armani 2, as well as an amazing wife Jodie. This family has already been through a lot this year with their youngest daughter Armani requiring surgery on her hand, as well as previously undergoing heart surgeries.

The goal for this page is to raise as much money as we can to help reduce the financial stress on the family. If we can raise enough funds to cover everyday living costs including; mortgage, utilities, travel costs and childcare just to name a few, this will allow Jodie to focus on supporting Milky through his recovery and raising their three young children without the added financial stress.

Milky is the kind of man that lives life to the fullest. He leaves a mark wherever he goes, leads a fit and active lifestyle training CrossFit 5 times a week as well as playing soccer and keeping up with 3 energetic kids. He is an amazing father and has a heart of gold. Milky is the first to lend a hand to anyone in need.

We can’t wait to have Milky back in the gym stirring us up and smashing us in all the workouts, but for now, he faces his biggest challenge yet of regaining basic movement throughout his body.

We are wanting to do everything we can to help this family as we know he would do the same for anyone of us.
