hi! some of you know that I have been coping with immense physical pain this past year. I have done everything I can to avoid surgery but at this point, I have "failed all conservative treatment" according to my medical team.

My funds and health have deteriorated greatly after pursuing numerous MRIs, steroid injections, and a full year of physical therapy. I am seeking community assistance to pursue a Core Muscle Injury (CMI) surgery and 6-8 weeks of physical therapy.

The surgeon I have been referred to is in St. Louis and I will have to recuperate away from home for at least 1-2 weeks due to the risk of complications from traveling soon after the operation. My biggest concerns are the out-of-pocket costs of finding a place to stay for me and a caregiver, acquiring transportation to and from STL, and the treatment itself.

Unfortunately, due to chronic disability, I have missed work and needed to apply for disability leave twice in the past year. As a result, I have experienced financial consequences at my job and struggled with disability accommodation. I will likely be unable to work much for the first month of recovery.

These funds will help me cover some of the costs associated with the procedure and help me keep my head above water as I recover. Thank you for taking the time to read this and share. Anything helps and I appreciate you all for being so loving and supportive throughout this process.
