Millie’s Treatment at Earlswood

Donation protected

Hi, my name Is Sarah, Millie is a 9 year old cross breed in whom I rescued from a local Charity in 2017.

Unfortunately on 20th September Millie started showing signs of left sided weakness. We took Millie to Parklands Vets in Derry who initially thought it was a back leg injury and pain relief and anti-inflammatorys were prescribed.

On Wednesday 25th September Millie’s mobility rapidly deteriorated, she was unable to stand without leaning against something and was walking sideways, I rang the vet who asked me to bring her straight out, Parklands done bloods which were sent to the lab but due to too much fat in the blood the results were inconclusive, we repeated the bloods on Friday Morning and when the results came back they were once again inconclusive as the bloods had not been seperated, so the bloods were repeated for a third time on Wednesday 2nd October In which we are still awaiting the results.

During Millie’s appointment at the vets they done a neurology test and spinal test and came to the conclusion that it appears to be neurological.

Millie now has to be sent to Earlswood in Belfast for an MRI and a CT scan. The MRI is costing £2500 and a CT scan costs £2200, we have opted for the MRI scan first as it should show more. These prices does not include the written report from the consultant radiographer nor any treatment after the scans.

If we send Millie as a total referral, Millie will be under Earlswood care and I have been advised the bill could total around £5000, if we send her as a outpatient Earlswood will do the MRI and a spinal tap costing around £3000 and Parklands will then treat accordingly, at present we have opted to treat Millie as an outpatient as we still will have a bill of a minimum of £3000

Millie is currently on steroids and an antibiotic, the steroids help a bit but she is still very unbalanced at times

Any donation no matter how big or small will massively help me get some answers and hopefully help to treat whatever condition Millie is suffering from.

All receipts will be uploaded and if there is any left over money this will be donated to a local animal charity

I would like to thank everyone in advance for all your donations ❤️

unfortunately Millie’s MRI results came back that she had a tumor in the brain. We done the right thing for Millie and put her out of pain on Friday 18th October.

I would like every single person for helping me raise the money to get a diagnosis! From the bottom of my heart. Thank you
