Millie’s fight to stand again

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Millie and I’ve recently been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder also known as FND.
Ive been in hospital now for 6 weeks, with the plan to try and get me into inpatient rehab at the QEH.

Ive been battling my disabilities for 5 years now, and it has come to the point that I no longer have functionality or independence the way I used to.
I’ve had 5 abdominal surgeries in the last 3 years, currently being tube fed as my body can no longer support itself nutritionally. I’ve been diagnosed with many other disabilities such as hEDS which is debilitating in itself.

However my new condition has trumped all battles I’ve ever felt with…

FND is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain and body sends and receives signals.

Symptoms vary from person to person but I am currently struggling with:
Bladder and Bowel changes
Chronic Pain and Fatigue
Cognitive changes such as brain fog and memory loss
Severe headaches and migraines
Involuntary full body tremors
Generalised weakness
Sensory Changes to temperature, sound and light
Speech and Visual changes

but the two most debilitating symptoms are the functional seizures that last anywhere from 2 minutes to 3 hours daily/ multiple times a day, and paralysis from my waist down.

I am currently working with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to try to re train my brain how to send the signals back down to my legs.
I am working hard everyday to try and regain my independence and function.

I am in need of some help.
I am needing the REA Azalea Tilt in Space self propelled wheelchair to get around safely, along with other medical equipment and supplies to make life functional as I am no longer independent and heavily disabled with all my conditions.

My goal is to raise $5000 to go towards a safe wheelchair that has been recommended that I use to gain a little bit of independence without the risk of my falling and hurting myself when I have these seizures.

Any donation big or small will make a world of difference to me.
Even if you can’t donate, share this around and pass it on.

Yours Truly,
Millie xx
