Milly’s Channel Swim 2025
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Milly Furneaux.
After having a few years away from competitive swimming, I have decided to embark on my next challenge. In August 2025, I will be Swimming the English Channel this has been on my bucket list for many years and growing up a stones throw from the Dover shore, I felt like it was only right to give it a splash.
The English Chanel is 21 miles from Dover to Cap-Gris-Nez on the French coastline. To enable me to even consider this challenge it has involved countless hours in the cold open water and the pool.
The swim is not only about me though, it requires a very skilled boat crew to help guide me across the channel safely just like they have hundreds of swimmers before me.
I have set up this go fund me, as an opportunity to raise money for some great causes as well as to assist with the cost of boat fees.
The Pilgrims Hospice.
My Grandpa spent his last few weeks in a Hospice in Kent, and I would love to do anything I can to support hospices around the country. They are wonderful places which give both the patient and the family members all the support you could imagine. They make those last few weeks as comfortable as possible and I am so grateful to them for looking after Grandpa.
Myeloma UK
This charity means a lot to my family following my Uncle being diagnosed with cancer. Myeloma, sometimes known as multiple myeloma, can also be called bone marrow cancer. It is a cancer arising from plasma cells, a type of white blood cell which is made in the bone marrow.
Myeloma UK are the only UK charity focused on the discovery, development and access to new effective treatments for myeloma. They are dedicated to funding research, providing information and supporting those with myeloma.
RNLI
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the RNLI is ready to save lives. Powered by courage, determination and the support of generous people like you.
Our volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland and our seasonal lifeguards patrol busy beaches. RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives since 1824.
And let’s hope they are not needed on the day.
Thank you.
