Milton Abbey Open Water Swimming Team

Milton Abbey will be attending the 24-Hour Shepperton Open Water swim relay for the second year running on 10-11 June 2023.

After the success of last year - being the only school allowed to take part, given the gruelling nature of the event - and due to high levels of student interest, this year we will be entering two teams to involve six pupils and four staff members. Each team will swim in relay for the 24-hour period, through (hopefully) sunny days, the dark of the night, and a memorable sunset and sunrise.

Later in the Summer Term, Head of Swimming Mr Hanney and Gracie F (Senior Girls' Captain) are also representing the school at the Ullswater end-to-end swim in the Lake District and will be swimming the entire 11km length of the lake. They are hoping to complete the swim in around 4-5 hours.

Both events are raising money for the wonderful Level Water charity, which provides swimming lessons for children with disabilities and helps them to access and enjoy swimming more widely.
