Milton Bond: Stage 4 Terminal Lung Cancer

Hi, my name is Claudia Payne and I am running a GoFundMe for our beloved friend and comrade, Milton Bond, who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Terminal Lung Cancer.

Milton is 56 and has been in the railway since 1988, working on flying gangs, fettler gangs and has spent the last 20 years of his career as a Train Driver. Milton has been a staunch unionist throughout his whole career and has spent the last 15 years with the Australian Federated Union of Locomotive Employees (AFULE). Milton has always brought a smile to the faces of drivers in our workforce with his cheeky sense of humour and kind soul. He is loved and respected by those in our workforce who have spent years working alongside him.

Milton has 11 kids all up, however is still raising his young ones Daphne (14), Jack (10) and Peyton (8), with his partner Hazel. Hazel is also going through her share of health difficulties and Milton's daughter has recently resigned from her job to help them out with their children and take Milton to appointments for chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

For a variety of reasons, Milton has had a few issues in accessing his superannuation for Total Permanent Disability and is not entitled to Income Insurance, as he can never work again. He has utilised his annual, personal and long service leave to support his family in the meantime and has now exhausted these accruals.
