Ministry in Motion - Needs Wheels
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Chuck. I work for God and want to continue without pause - my mission on the street and with everyone I meet. To give them hope, strength, and to know that if I could overcome homelessness myself, they can as well. That has been my mission for 14 years. Having been in prison from 1995 to 2009, I struggled and ended up homeless where God placed my spiritual mentor, Will Hyatt, on my path. Together we served, patched people up, met individual needs and Christ enveloped me. After about 5 years, and always working, I was able to get housing. Initially without a car, I traveled 26 miles by bus to Austin to serve. Recognizing over 10 years of service to the homeless, including Open Door Ministry - feeding, clothing and showing love every Saturday morning without fail. In 2022, I received the 2022 Andrews Award for AARP Volunteer of the Year in Texas. I was also elected to Board of that church ministry as well as the House the Homeless, Inc. Board. Its an honor to volunteer for the HTH Annual Memorial Service where in 2022, the names were read of 250 women, children and men who died while homeless (see photo, I am on te far right). We also provide Hats, Underthermals, Gloves, Scarves, Socks - HUGSS - at a New Years Day event. As in the video, I have started Word on the Streets as one way I engage with my brothers and sisters as year-round I serve.
The Ministry in Motion needs to keep rolling without a pause and my old car is "done" and we need wheels to keep God's ministry going. He has dropped a dependable and good used care that a friend has loaned me. I simply lack the resources to cover even a modest $3,000 cost. Any amount ($5, $20, $100....) is greatly appreciated aor please share this on your social media, text messages and email friends as you will be a part of this ministry and God's work (Matthew 25:35-45).
