Minnesota State Fair Bench for Dan Stanchfield

Hi, my name is Erin Verde and I am fundraising for my brother, Dan Stanchfield. Dan was diagnosed with primary central nervous system lymphoma in September of 2020. He went through treatment and was doing amazingly well. Unfortunately, in November of 2022, he was diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer.

My brother is one of the best people I know, and he has not let this diagnosis slow him down. He continues to go through chemotherapy without complaint and is often the one to crack a joke to try to cheer everyone else around him up. I have been thinking about a way to honor him and his journey, and I love the idea of creating a bench for him at the Minnesota State Fair. Dan and I both have moved away from Minnesota, but we have made it a tradition to come home every year in August to visit The Great Minnesota Get-Together. Our time together with family and friends at the Fair has become one of my favorite memories, and I can think of no better way to honor him than to give him his own bench at one of our favorite places.

P.S. We would love this to be a surprise for Dan, so please don't tell him about it!
