Minpinerie "Savings for Seniors" Fund

Minpinerie is a non-profit Ottawa-based organization made up of dedicated dog-loving volunteers who rescue and foster miniature pinschers that have been surrendered by their owners, willingly released by puppy mills or breeders, or abandoned in shelters. We also rescue, with priority, other small dogs in situations of peril or abuse, and will work quickly to assist women with dogs who must immediately leave their home setting because of domestic abuse, by fostering their pets until they have a chance to re-settle or by re-homing them. We are a tireless team that provides transport, foster care, veterinary care…all to make sure that all our dogs find loving, caring, forever homes.

As such, we also rescue "senior" pets in need.



It is heartbreaking to see families abandoning their senior pets to shelters, or to leave them roaming the streets. That is where we come in and rescue.

These lovely dogs are unfortunately not as desirable to adopters because of their age or age related medical conditions.
They may require more frequent vet visits, and medications for everything from kidney or bladder issues, arthritis to heart conditions, diabetes or dental work. Many require special diets. These conditions are manageable and having the right medications greatly improves a dog's quality of life, so it can live out it's time in the comfort of a loving foster home. They also have, unfortunately, end of life expenses. Minpinerie currently has ten senior dogs in "golden ager" foster care. We provide loving forever retirement and palliative homes for these seniors, but your help is needed to help us establish a fund for their continued care so that we can continue saving dogs, young and old!

Without establishing this fund of SAVINGS FOR SENIORS, our rescue might find itself in a position of having to turn away older dogs if we can no longer afford to care for them. Please help us help them. !!
