Miracle Fund: Helping Save Sam from Cancer

My name is Bridget and I am fundraising on behalf of my friend Sam Harbuz.

Sam is a mum of two young boys, a wife, a business owner and a friend to many. She is currently living a nightmare.

After having surgery to remove what we were originally told and expected to be a benign mass, she has been diagnosed with cancer which has spread rapidly.

After being misdiagnosed twice and told not to worry about going elsewhere for a second opinion because everything will be fine, she has been delivered the news from her Doctor's that no one wants to hear:

Inoperable.

Incurable.

Chemo will only buy you time.

Following a long list of medical mishaps and incompetence, our last hope of a miracle to save Sam is to seek treatment overseas.

Sam and her husband, Bol, are active members of the community, always helping others. As a hairdresser for over two decades, Sam has dedicated her life to helping others look and feel their best. Bol is a dedicated volunteer for the Magnetic Island Magpies Junior AFL club and also a member of the Magnetic Island Group of the Queensland State Emergency Service.

Bol opened Magnetic Island Gym with the vision of improving the health of visitors and residents and helping them to lead better, longer lives.

It’s time for Sam and Bol to get back some of the kindness generosity they have shown to others.

Anyone who knows Sam knows how mortified she is to have all of this as public knowledge, but the love and support, particularly from our wonderful Magnetic Island community, has not gone unnoticed and is greatly appreciated despite how overwhelming it is.

Sam has a very small life bucket list of goals and there's only one thing off this list that we will accept not happening:
