Miracle Isabella "Izzy" Grace Johnson

Isabella "Izzy" Grace Johnson was a miracle even before she was born less than a week ago on 6/22/24 in Oregon. Isabella's mom beat childhood cancer and was told she'd never have children. So it came as a huge shock when she learned she was quite far along in her pregnancy with Isabella (Miracle #1.) Isabella's mom struggles with addiction, and despite efforts and attempted interventions, she continued to use throughout her pregnancy with Isabella. Isabella was born with addictive substances in her system as well as having inhaled large amounts of meconium in utero. Due to these life threatening conditions, Isabella was transferred to a high level NICU unit in Washington state. Isabella's determination and fiestiness was apparent as she continued to meet medical milestones far ahead of schedule than expected. She is now off the ventilator and was able to be held for the first time just yesterday (Miracle #2) but continues her stay in NICU due to addiction withdrawal. This sassy baby girl will continue to fight to get stronger and healthier but this is where Miracle #3 enters.... Isabella is the first grandchild of our dear friend, family member, colleague, substance use treatment counselor, sister in the recovery community, DV survivor and incredible human- Jennifer Johnson. Anyone who knows Jennifer knows that she has walked through the fires of Hell but continues to carry pails of water back to others who are still consumed by the flames. She is a single mom who is now a first time Grandmother to Miracle Isabella and is filing for emergency legal custody of her newborn Granddaughter. Jennifer has already incurred enormous debt through multiple flights and travel expenses to Oregon, unpaid time off work, and just this morning maxed out her credit cards to secure an attorney via retainer fee and is currently on a flight from Alaska to Oregon in order to be with her granddaughter.

If you know Jennifer you know that she will do anything to help others, especially her family, and rarely asks for anything in return. She would go into financial ruin if it meant securing the safety of Isabella.

This is where we come in. We can be Miracle #4 in this series of incredible events. We can ease this financial strain for Jennifer so that she may focus on her family. All funds will go directly to Jennifer and will go to help cover the cost of flights to and from Oregon/Alaska, legal fees, and any additional unexpected expenses that might arise as Jennifer continues to care for and ensure the safety of baby Isabella...
