Miracle League of Blaine, in partnership with Lions Clubs and the Blaine Area Little League believe every child should be able to get out in the sunshine and enjoy playing the game of baseball in its purest form. This field has gone over 12 years with minimal maintenance, our players can not use the field in it's current condition, can you please help us bring back the Miracle to this field?
As the very first adaptive field in Minnesota, The Miracle League of Blaine Ball Field gives children with cognitive and physical challenges something few dreamed possible, the chance to play baseball.
Our organizations support making new friends, building self-esteem, and being treated just like other kids. To help our athletes, we use a “buddy” system – pairing each player with an able-bodied peer or adult. The result is a bond that cannot be described.
When our kids need a place to play, we build specially-equipped fields. The Miracle League of Blaine removes the barriers that keep children with special needs off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. Since the main barriers for these children arise from the natural grass fields used in conventional youth leagues, the Miracle League of Blaine plays on a custom-designed, rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries.
In other words, it provides a level-playing field where differently-abled children can hit, run, and catch-just like other kids.
At the Miracle League of Blaine, every child gets to hit the ball and score a run. Our players may not be able to run the bases or hit the ball as well as some of their peers, but they have an equal amount of love and determination to play baseball. We want to help them achieve that dream.
