The Plans I Have For You

I have a story to tell about doubt and faith; ignorance and advocacy; fear and courage; sickness and healing. It begins with the birth of our hemorrhaging baby boy and follows a 13-year fight to save the lives of my two sons from eosinophilic esophagitis, an “incurable” food allergy disease. This miraculous journey follows my husband and me as we search for a diagnosis; battle the medical establishment; start a FoodPhight to raise money for research to benefit all families; initiate legislation; and stand up to the greed of the insurance industry. We juggled all of that while trying to care for our two desperately sick children; keep our marriage alive; pay exorbitant medical debt; and even face questions from doctors and the Department of Family and Children's Services about whether or not we were harming our children. Yet through all the pain, fear and chaos, God was in control – and His plan for each member of my family was far greater than we could have imagined.

The Plans I Have For You will be an inspirational medical memoir and movie treatment, co-written by me and nationally acclaimed author and publisher Echo Montgomery Garrett. The Plans I Have For You takes its title from Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

How the funds will be used:

I am seeking to raise $80,000 for this project, which will cover the costs of writing and editing along with all aspects of publishing and promotion. My hope is that this will be an inspiration to all, an affirmation of faith, and a reminder that God's plans are always good.

The Plans I Have For You will be published in 2024 by Lucid House Publishing.
