Hello and thank you for taking a moment to read our story.
The picture above is from 1998. It is at our grandparents home in Tijuana on Christmas Eve. That year the entire family sponataneously decided to spend the holiday together. There wasn't even a Christmas tree because everyone had made other plans. It turned out to be one of the best nights that we have spent together as a family. Our grandmother (R.I.P.) was still living at the time and I remember my eldest brother Erik who hadn't visited in a while walked in the front door and she was the first person to see him. Her first born grandchild! She broke down in tears of joy. For a momement there we were whole. The sounds of laughter, the smell of tamales, and the echoes of the clock that stroke 12 times at midnight stays with me from that night.
We are the 7 children of Gerardo Miramontes. Our father was critically injured in a terrible fire in his home on Friday, January 16, 2015. He is in the ICU in a hospital in Tijuana, Baja California fighting for his life.
Our goal was to raise money to have our Dad transfered back into the United States and have him treated at a burn center. This was a very difficult task as we were racing against the clock.
Unfortunately our Father passed on Monday January 26, 2015.
We layed him to rest yesterday, January 29, 2015. We would appreciate you prayers for my father, that he may Rest In Peace.
We all loved him very much. And devistated that he is no longer with us.
Our Dad was a very noble man. He was full of charisma, and people enjoyed his company. His presence was sure to fill the room with jokes and lots of laughter.
Our Mother, Maria, and all of his kids, (Erik, Valerie, Walter, Fabian, Vanessa, Cassandra and Kelly), his grandchildrem (Priscilla, Vianka, David, Chantal, Blake, Rhylie, Tyler, Gavin and Maximiliano) and great grandchildren (Angelina, Andrew, Landon and Josselyn) along with his siblings (Carmely, Loly, Sary,Mayte and Gaby) and the rest of the family and all of his friends will miss him very much.
The entire Miramontes Family would like to thank each of you for having been so supportive during this extremely painful time. It has been so nice to hear such loving and kind words from family and friends and our Dads friends aswell.
Thank You so much, God Bless you all.
