Mira's Mission

Mira was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. In short, Mira will need multiple surgeries to correct this problem. She has already had two major open heart surgeries and has spent over half her life in the ICU. She will need medical care at home until she is able to recover fully. Amy and Dan have been together for four years and quickly decided after meeting Mira that she was much more than just their niece; she was their daughter. They are going through the adoption process now. Luckily the selfless woman who decided to adopt her niece is an excellent nurse. This makes her Mira's mama PLUS her medical caretaker. This means she cannot work as much as needed, so she can be home and take care of Mira. It takes a village to raise a baby and an even bigger, stronger village to raise a child with medical needs. Amy and Dan are humbled by the amount of support they have already received from friends and family. Amy hasn't worked in over 3 months to be with Mira at home and in the hospital.
