Miriam Saiz Montalvo Memorial Family Fund

Hello, my name is Perla and I am Miriam’s sister-in-law. I created this fundraiser because many of Miriam’s friends and family members have reached out, after her passing, asking if there was a cause that Miriam would have liked for donations to be made to, in her honor. After a lot of thought, we came to the conclusion that there is nothing that Miriam loved more than her children.

We know there are very difficult times ahead of us. In fact, we believe we have yet to go through the hardest part. As time passes, our hearts will ache more as we, and her children, realize that she won’t walk through the door again. Yair, Ari and Tito’s little hearts will increasingly feel Miriam’s absence. Our purpose for creating this fund is to try and heal their little hearts as we attempt to mend ours as well. The funds raised will be used to provide the kids with happy experiences so we can bring joy to them in the difficult times ahead of us. We would like to take the kids to our local zoo, on ice cream runs, and children’s museum visits, to name a few activities. We want to let the kids know that these activities are a gift that Mommy sent through her friends and family that loved her dearly!

As you all know, Miriam went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on January 8, 2022. In 2011, Miriam was diagnosed with cancer, and from that moment on, she faced her foe with grace, courage, dignity, and above all, faith. She bravely beat cancer by surpassing the 5-year life expectation she was given. Throughout her adult life and her battle with cancer she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was the best mother, wife, sister, daughter, airman, leader, friend, and Christian. You would think that we were prepared for her passing after almost 11 years of a constant battle with cancer, but we were not. And just as fast as it happened, our world came crumbling down.
