Mirna Portillo

It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mirna Del Carmen Portillo on Tuesday July 21st at the much too young age of 43.  Mirna was a devoted wife to Jose and loving mother to her 3 kids, Meleny (24), Jeimy (22) and Randy (10).  Many of you know her and/or Jose from the tireless work they did for us around our homes.  She always had a smile on her face and no request was too much trouble for her.  She was also a fighter.  After bravely beating breast cancer last year, she tragically contracted Covid 19 when visiting the hospital for an infection around the port used to dispense  chemotherapy treatment.  She had been hospitalized for the 3 months and only succumbed after spending the last 6 weeks on a ventilator.  She was a kind and cheerful presence and will be greatly missed.
We would like to honor her memory by trying to help her family at this very difficult time.  To help with funeral expenses, child care for her youngest child and generally help the family stay on their feet financially,  we politely ask that you give what you can that we can pass on to Jose and the family.  We're hopeful that as a large group we can put together a significant donation for Mirna's family so that they have one less thing to worry about at this sad and difficult time.
