Miss Cairos Jaw Surgery

Hi, my name is Tash York and I'm asking for your help!

My beautiful friend Cleo, or as know to most of you as Miss Cairo has had an accident and broken her jaw whilst living and working in Thailand. Although she had travel insurance she has since found out that her insurer won't cover this surgery and is looking at the staggering bill of $11,000 to ensure her recovery.

As her jaw is broken they won't let her return to Australia to recieve the care she needs and will be forced to pay this amount in full.

Miss Cairo is a trans activist, cabaret performer and mentor who has provided so much to our community as a founder and leader in People of Cabaret, working on a bunch of community-led projects and has always been a huge shining light for the Trans and LGBTQIA+ community.

After being in hospital in a lot of pain and waiting over 36 hours, she was denied proper food and water until her insurance situation was sorted out. Not to mention was misgendered a number of times.

After all this her travel insurance did not consider a broken jaw as emergency surgery forcing her to pay upfront before receiving proper care.

It's time to show our love and support for her by hopefully reaching at least $10k, but even better if we can get it to the full $11,000. Which she has had to pay herself upfront in order to get the surgery which has included her jaw being wired shut for at least two weeks and no date as to when she can travel back home to Oz.
