Hello All!
Carlie Craig, here - aka Miss Carlie. Please indulge me as I fill you in on a project very near and dear to my heart that I have been developing over the last several years:
In 2022, within months of my move from LA to NYC, I stumbled upon a Performing Arts school in suburban New Jersey where I was brought on to start developing a comedy program for kids - The PTW Comedy Crew. Through my work in creating this program, I have discovered a life - and persona - beyond what I could have ever dreamt for myself... Enter: Miss Carlie.
Over the past two and a half years, I (Miss Carlie) have worked with the Comedy Crew (ages 7-13) on developing completely original material and sketches from the ground up. Building their characters from scratch in their private lessons, carrying that work over to our improvised group rehearsals and putting it all on paper for them for our table reads and showcases.
A byproduct of this work has been the hilarious rapport I have built with the same group of students over the past couple years as they come into their own as performers and as young people.

Another byproduct: Miss Carlie's students have begun booking professional work non-stop under her mentorship. Two students have projects out on Netflix, another student on HBO and all the others are booking national commercials and voiceover jobs left and right. It's truly hard to keep up with these Gen Alpha superstars.
Between all the gigs and this continuously blossoming mentorship - The Crew and I have decided that we are ready to shoot a professional project together!
I am determined to bring the Hollywood experience to them this Spring, here in suburban New Jersey - with an original series... all about us. I’m thrilled to have found an extraordinary partner on this project, my co-EP & Cinematographer, Jonathan Cortizo of Pleasant Oak Productions.

Ok, now that the sappy stuff is over with - here's the concept:
Miss Carlie: The Series
An Ensemble Mockumentary
Think: Abbott Elementary meets The Comeback
Think: The Office meets Dance Moms
Think: Abby Lee Miller + Valerie Cherish divided by Michael Scott = Miss Carlie
Brief synopsis:
Miss Carlie - an out-of-work millennial actress fresh off the U-haul from Hollywood - takes a position as a comedy teacher at a humble performing arts program in New Jersey. In an effort to prove to herself she is not an egomaniac, Miss Carlie hires a camera crew to document her selfless work with the Gen Alpha comedy troupe.
The plan backfires, however, when her students begin booking professional work under her mentorship, overshadowing her own accomplishments - which all happened before they were even born. Miss Carlie spends the series grappling with her ego as she walks a tightrope of celebrating her students’ wins while deconstructing her own definition of true “show business” success.
