Miss Chiles, Enya Sandoval

Donation protected

We are grateful that the food truck was found, with some damage and not drivable but fixable we still don’t have a total estimate of how much will cost but we hope is reasonable, the money that all of you are donating will go to fix it and hopefully Miss Chiles will be back soon .
Sadly today our dear "Our dear wonderful, natural chef of Miss Chiles and guisados, Enya Sandoval was victim of another robbery in the city of Oakland. Whoever machiavelically watched and took Enya s food truck is not only taking her truck, they took four sad intense years of hard work of someone who had previously owned and ran a food truck in Napa for a period of four years, it all stopped when she decided to transition and with that came chronic depression, suicidal ideations, deepens low self esteem that pushed a beautiful human being to go hermit in the year 2018, then COVID hit and it made the chances of getting a decent job even worse. This is someone who had to dress like a man in order to provide for herself and who ended up homeless and with the help of friends who are her family, she was able to start from scratch and re-evaluate her own worth. And despite all these barriers and struggles, Enya was able to pull from this ocean of gigantic waves, between hatred, non acceptance and judgements of people, she once again started from zero. This time she fiercely worked for another four years to get into the food truck businesses. I was there for her mild beautiful opening yesterday on Broadway and 30th. Unfortunately, our city's crime is so rampant and wild, she had her truck stolen! It feels right that we as a community are there for her and hopefully we can gather enough money to help recover the truck. She just brought a new refrigerator, tortilla maker, new paint and other items.

We ask you to please donate whatever amount you can, if not please share with folks. We as a community must have one another's back when no one is out there for us
