Miss Haiti visiting New Orleans

Donation protected
Fundraiser: Help Miss Haiti visit New Orleans from Thursday, December 15th, to Saturday, December 17th. The fundraising goal for this visit is $2,500. The fundraising deadline is Sunday, December 4th.

Purpose: My name is Malcolm Eustache. I am a first-generation Haitian-American with lineage from Cap-Haïtien, Haiti. As a member of the Haitian-American community in New Orleans - a city with deep historical and cultural connections to Haiti - it is essential that I serve, in any way that I can, to highlight the link between these two beloved places. And while images of crime and chaos in Haiti have frequently been disseminated, it is imperative that these portrayals do not define it.

In January 2023, New Orleans will welcome the world as the host city of the 71st Miss Universe competition. One of the 90 women who will represent their respective nations is Mideline Phelizor, recently crowned Miss Haiti in August of this year.
Mideline, who recently completed her legal studies in Haiti, wants to use her title to promote the rights of children, especially orphans. She desires to engage in a cultural exchange visit to New Orleans and present a positive representation of Haiti. This is where she needs your support.

Use of Funds: The funds will cover the airfare and lodging for Miss Haiti and her translator. During her proposed visit, Miss Haiti will visit schools, restaurants, government offices, and cultural institutions that help to shine a light on the unique bond between Haiti and New Orleans.
