Miss Ohio USA funds

Hello!

My name is Ellaina Swallows, and I am a contestant in the 2023 Miss Ohio USA pageant, holding the title for Dayton! It will be held May 19-20 in Portsmouth, OH at the Vern Riffe Creative Arts Center. I am currently trying to raise money to help me afford all the fees, wardrobe costs, hair & makeup costs, travel costs, etc., to make this dream a reality. I’ve done the math, and it all costs around $5,000 in total. Crazy, right?! It definitely adds up! I am a full-time college student and a part-time waitress, so I am not able to do this on my own. Any contribution, big or small, is appreciated and would help me afford these expenses and help me chase the crown to Miss Ohio USA!

Why do I want to be Miss USA?

As a woman that has finally been able to afford hair after struggling with hair loss for many years, I want to be Miss Ohio USA more than anything so that I can prove to women and men all across the United States that they are beautiful in their own skin. Children and adults that have lost hair due to medical issues such as, alopecia areata, post-cancer patients that went through chemo, post burn patients, and so on, deserve to feel confident. Your weight doesn't matter, your acne doesn't matter, stretch marks and cellulite doesn't matter, and hair loss doesn't matter. Everyone is unique. The lack of self-confidence and self-esteem in today's generation is very sad, and it is all because of the beauty standards and photoshopped people put on social media. My goal is to make everyone feel beautiful and give those who need or want hair, their dream hair.

What happens to the money I don’t use?

Any contributions left over that I will not need will be immediately donated to the non-profit, Locks of Love*, to help children all over receive the gift of hair. So, your contribution will not go to waste! Thank you so much for your consideration, and thank you for helping me reach my goals.
