Miss Paisley Blevins Recovery
Donation protected
12-14-23
Good afternoon!
I am sorry it has taken me so long to update everyone.
Miss Paisley is doing well. We got her Pacemaker surgery completed on 12-12-23. She spent 1 night in the ICU and is now finishing her recovery in her home unit PCU300.
Miss Paisley has had a hard life the past 7months. She has been yellow since birth. She has had a Kasai Procedure in June. It failed to support her liver, so they required evaluation for a liver transplant.
Her team requested we stay local (in CA) until they could get her the organ she needed. 4 days after the visit with her doctors deciding we stay local, she was admitted in the hospital where she continues to be admitted.
Paisley got a liver donor offer 10-26 and went in for her transplant on 10-27. During her surgery, she need a pacemaker placed as well.
On the morning of 10-28 doctors seen that one of her main arteries had collapsed and she needed to be rushed back into the OR for a artery graft rebuild.
Paisley spiked a fever 11-2. The doctors are staying on top of the fever and have her on a broad spectrum antibiotic as well as an anti fungal.
Paisley will eventually need to have her temporary pace maker exchanged for a permanent one. Which in turn requires her to stay in the CVICU longer than originally anticipated.
Drew may have to take more time off from work then we were originally budgeting for.
Paisley will easily need to be in the hospital for another 2 months and then after that she will be required to stay local for 8-12wks post discharge for continuous tests and monitoring.
