Here is a little back story of myself:)
As a young woman you are often told to leap into new things and chase your dreams.
I am beyond grateful to take part in this opportunity as a young woman because I believe that women are full of empowerment and great beauty. I want to not only help myself with confidence but help other women embrace themselves.
Growing up as a young child, being a part of a military family, I was lucky enough to experience change. Specifically change in as meeting new faces, starting new every couple of years, and having to leave friends/ and family. I believe that encountering this as a young child has made a part of who I am today, to accept change and face challenges. This experience and knowledge to be given at such a young age is a privilege. Being able to share this with other women and letting them know that there is someone out there by their side who has been through change is a blessing.
The last couple of months I decided to be a part of a nonprofit organization- The Izzy Foundation. I was a part of this incredible campaign with high school and college students that were competing to raise the most money they could. I spent months putting my heart into this because this nonprofit organization advocates for childhood cancer. I unfortunately lost my boyfriend to ewing sarcoma. The amount of love and support I received from this foundation while my late boyfriend was going through treatments was absolutely incredible. I decided I wanted to give them what they gave to my boyfriend and I during this traumatic time. I ended up winning the campaign and raising $10,000! This made me feel so honored and powerful that this money I worked hard to raise is going to such a great cause. I will always in my heart be an advocate for childhood cancer as I have seen and gone through it second hand.
I am pursuing my dream to become a nurse. My knowledge has grown so much since I have been going to Rhode Island College. Including going to school for nursing, I am a nursing assistant at Newport Hospital, where I encounter patients on the Cardiac and Neurology floor.
I can say all I have been through has made a strong and powerful woman. Which is why I think I would make an exception of Miss Rhode Island USA of 2024!
