MISS SOUTH CAROLINA HBCU TEEN
Donation protected
My name is Shayla Moore, a senior at Wade Hampton High School and a resident of Islandton, SC. I have been selected as an official contestant for the Miss HBCU Teen Scholarship Pageant®! I was chosen from many achieving high school students who applied throughout the country and will compete for an opportunity of a lifetime.
Because I am a Sickle Cell warrior myself, my mission on this journey is to advocate and spread awareness of Sickle Cell Disease.
In March of 2023, I will participate in an event at which Miss HBCU Teen Pageant® will provide recognition and connections with several partnering HBCUs and their alumni associations. Exposure such as this will award participants the opportunity to receive scholarships for college, training in leadership, public speaking, and civic engagement, and the opportunity to become a spokeswoman for girls of color across the United States. My hope is to become a public advocate for a worthy empowerment program and a positive reflection of the talent and wisdom we have in our community’s youth. To compete in the pageant, there is a sponsorship fee and other related costs. I am asking you to help me on my journey as Miss South Carolina HBCU teen to alleviate all or a portion of the sponsorship fee.
The donations you provide will help me to flourish in the Miss HBCU Teen organization, which provides industry professional training, gifts, production, and over $6,000 in scholarships for the title holders’ education at their future HBCU – and in a few months, that title holder could be me!
Thank you very much for your support, Shayla
