Miss Terri Needs Our Help
Donation protected
Hi, I am Alan. I have known Miss Terri of the Napa Valley for nearly 20 years. Many of you have met or have heard me speak of Miss Terri over all these years. If you have met her, you know that she is one of a kind. She is one of the most generous and helpful people you will ever meet.
As a hairstylist, she spent most of her career doing wigs for cancer patients. As a volunteer, she spent hours and hours working with the Lions' Club collecting funds and eyeglasses for those in need. As an animal lover, she has adopted many dogs and cats over the years. As an activist she has marched for social injustices and against elder abuse in Mobilehome Parks and nursing homes. One of Miss Terri's greatest causes was her fight for and establishing the Vallejo Mobilehome Coalition.
As a friend, though, Miss Terri has done too many deeds to be counted. She has sat at ticket booths at jazz concerts in the park. She brings in boxes of chocolates to the clerks at the banks. She has showered her friends with gifts and helped with money when she was able. Miss Terri has done everything possible to help others....now it is time to help her out.
In November 2021, Miss Terri was diagnosed with Ataxia. Ataxia is a degenerative disease of the nervous system. Many symptoms of Ataxia mimic those of being drunk, such as slurred speech, stumbling, falling, and incoordination. These symptoms are caused by damage to the cerebellum, the part of the brain that is responsible for coordinating movement. Ataxia treatment involves a combination of medication to treat symptoms and therapy to improve quality of life.
These therapies and doctor appointments are costly. Because of the severity of her Ataxia, Miss Terri was forced to stop working. As a result, her medical bills, housing costs, and prescriptions are piling up, and she has no income to help her.
Please consider donating to Miss Terri.
