Lido Pimienta's Album#3 Studio Fees
Donation protected
I am Lido Pimienta, a multi disciplinary artist from Colombia, South America who now lives in between London and Toronto, Canada.
My art and music are about love and nature, motherhood and the sisterhood of Bruxas and abuelas all around the world. My album #2 titled La Papessa will see the light this fall 2016.
Once upon a time in 2010, I entered the music scene and I instantly became one of the most sought after breakthrough recording artists of my generation. Both the indie and mainstream scene (mainly in Mexico/South America) could not get enough of my quirky, uplifting sound and outrageous personality. It was a golden era of award shows, touring and interviews, the problem was though...I was way too young and inexperienced for this kind of attention, I had no guidance but also, was a new mother and way too trusting. Being naive and genuinely nice in the music industry will make you realize that world is not a safe space for eager people like me back then, so naturally, I got ripped off by labels, bookers, venues and "friends" in the industry, It all proved to be way too much and traumatic! So "i packed my bags" and moved myself and my three year old son to the big city (toronto) with nothing more than a handful of songs, paintings and BIG IDEAS.
After taking a break from the music dark side and taking the time to learn more about the arts and entertainment industry, I finally established myself as an artist, curator and musician in the city. I surrounded myself with amazing beautiful people of the music industry, recorded and toured successfully my second album La Papessa (out in the fall of 2016) and alas - this time around I am again (or for the first time?) in a place of strength and knowledge, ready to go back to the studio and deliver beautiful songs.
I currently am in the process of raising the funds that will allow me to finish this new fantastic album
#3 "Miss Colombia" I am recording it in a studio located in Santiago de Chile, alongside music genius Andres Nusser (a.k.a Astro)
The core elements of album #3 are: beats, voice and brass.
Breakdown of this process/production costs are:
3k (studio), plus 2000 in co-production costs, 1500 for three piece brass band, 1500 for extra singers, 500 for additional orchestration/arrangement, and 500 brass session engineering - also living expenses for three weeks (around 800), new hard drives (300), a back-up computer (around 1k refurbished), childcare for 3 weeks (300) and some promo and video editing around 2500.
The funds will be needed by end of October 2016 (or as I/we see fit). I am not asking for the whole sum,( would be nice of course!) but the "realistic" and most important goal is the 3,000 that will cover studio expenses. I have already funded my travel fees, but have yet to have the money for the studio, rental of equipment and mixing.

If you dont have a credit card, e-transfer or paypal to: [email redacted]
Raising these funds will represent a huge help to me and my family, the songs I am creating will help raise awareness of the water crisis happening in my country Colombia right now, my people, the Wayuu are in need of visibility, support and immediate solutions; and I know that with a little push I can help the cause. Hence the title of the album: Miss Colombia, a play on words and a bizarre Ode to Beauty Queens and missing one's homeland.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for reading, thank you for sharing!
