The Airbnb OMG Fund has already contributed $100,000 to this project (which is all spent), and we're launching a fundraiser to raise an additional $30,000 to finish the project. This funding will ensure a one-of-a-kind experience for guests worldwide, combining history, sustainability, and the thrill of space exploration. Meet Matthew Fulkerson:

For the past several years, Matthew Fulkerson has been tirelessly working on renovating a decommissioned Atlas F Missile Base into a world class destination. As a Super Host with Airbnb, he has been managing an Adventure Campground on the Atlas F Missile Silo grounds & giving historical tours to guests.

The Vision:

Our goal is to turn this abandoned Cold War military base into a beacon of hope for the future. As space becomes one of the fastest-growing industries globally, with an expected value of 1-3 Trillion dollars by 2030, the Atlas program's historical significance cannot be overstated. The Atlas rocket, once a symbol of potential destruction, was repurposed for peaceful exploration by NASA, launching our first astronauts into orbit.

Educational Center for Space Habitat Studies:

Atlas Ad Astra will become an Educational Center showcasing cutting-edge technologies for sustainable living in space. This prototype habitat will include features for producing fresh food, clean air, pure water, consistent energy, health/medical facilities, communications, and more. These solutions aren't just for space; they're crucial for our resilient future on Earth in the face of global climate change.

The lower level will become the new Airbnb guest rooms, with accommodations for family vacations, corporate retreats, employee holiday parties & more. Get ready to book a weekend getaway & explore a Missile Base!
