Mission Mamaki

Common Scents combines a trifecta of medicine, nature and culture. Many "health programs" focus primarily on diet and exercise however, we must first nurture the source which inspires our habits--otherwise, our diets and physicality are merely unrooted routines. Common Scents increases awareness of the spiritual and energetic abundance that Hawaii has to offer. It's all around us--every day, just waiting to be used.

One of Common Scents Hawaii's health education programs features Mamaki Tea. For generations, Mamaki has been used to maintain balance which often gets shifted from our responses to stress from external factors. Mamaki helps to restore us from the inside out.

As the world becomes busier and more chaotic, stress has taken a toll on heart health. About 1 in 5 deaths in the U.S is attributed to heart conditions such as: Diabetes, Hypertension, Depression, and Cardiovascular Disease.

It takes a village not just to raise children, but also to remind each other that we are not alone in our struggles. While we often take on stress to take care of those around us, we must first take care of ourselves, our health. Our community can enjoy a purposeful and optimal quality of life, even if just one person at a time. Partnerships with schools and other organizations are essential to our mission of creating a healthy and happy Hawaii.

As we expand our Mamaki mission, Common Scents aims to provide more participants with Mamaki tea to integrate into their therapeutic lifestyle choices. Fulfilling this vision requires a transport option as well as an expanded agricultural medium. Mahalo in advance for all of your support.
