Mission Opportunity to Molo, Kenya

Hi Friends!
A unique door has opened that I'm humbly and gratefully walking through. In October of this year (yeah, only 2 months away!) I'll be joining with a team of 10 from Gateway Church in Pooler, GA through an organization called Project82 to fly to Molo, Kenya. The heart of this organization, based out of Kennesaw, GA, aligns with Psalms 82:3 to defend the cause of the weak and the fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. (To read more about P82, check them out here: https://project82kenya.com)
Like many of you, Brody and my passions are for the fatherless and oppressed to know God's great love for them. We know God has opened doors locally for our family to care for the vulnerable children in our land, and I'm so humbled to have and opportunity see with my own eyes what God is doing across the world for vulnerable children in Kenya as well.
So what's the purpose of this trip? Why spend such a large amount of money that I'm humbly asking for support with? Here's my hope:
My hope is that this trip would further "fan in to flame the gift of God" that we read about in 2 Timothy 1:6...the call to care for the orphans and vulnerable children on our watch as the church. That as the verse in Proverbs 31:8-9 states, to "Speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves, for the rights of those who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." My hope is that the aftermath would be to speak up in our land how we can better serve not only here, but there as well. To be a voice on their behalf. To be a voice interceding on their behalf to our gracious God who has saved us, who can save them. To serve the vulnerable not only in our backyard, but across the world as well. That is my hope.
What will we be doing in Kenya? We will be serving in two of the orphanages that Project82 supports. Here are the specific ways:
1.) P82 takes extremely great care of their staff and has had no turn over in the past 5 years! This means these children are being provided consistent primary caregivers to provide attachment, trust, and security. One of our goals is to serve, love, and build up the staff.
2.) P82 cares for rescued children through their sponsorship program. Many going on the trip have been sponsoring a child for years that they are about to meet face to face. What a beautiful glimpse of what eternity will hold when we get to meet our Provider face to face!
Also, I'll be able to meet children who are in need of a sponsor, in order to encourage our local churches here at home how we can play a role.
3.) We will focus on spiritual growth and discipleship in the Molo community through training and teaching opportunities.
4) VBS and LOTS of playing with the kiddos.
So how can you help? I would be humbled by your support to answer this call to go.
I'm excited to see how God can take the ordinary two fish and a few loaves of bread and multiply it into something only He can receive the credit for. Will you join me in this opportunity?
