Mission to find a kidney

Hi.

My name is Pam Catoe. I need a Hero kidney Donor...a living one. Just one kidney will change my life. You can become a donor.

1. Each person is normally born with 2 kidneys, but you only need one. Yes, we were given a spare by God. Would you share with me?

2. You do not have to have the same blood type as me.

3. You do not have to be the same sex as me.

4. You do not have to be the same race as me.

5. Testing is done close to your home and you are never charged for testing, the hospital or surgery.

6. Do you know that a kidney Donor's kidney is removed laproscopically and robotically through a very small incision on your side.

6. The donor will lose about a teaspoon of blood.

7. You will normally only be in the hospital a couple of days and you can return to your normal activities other than heavy lifting etc.

I am listed on the National Transplant list and specifically I'm on the Greenville Transplant list. I'm working to get on the Atrium Charlotte Transplant list and should know soon about that, as well as the Wake Forest Abdominal Transplant list.

I am doing peritoneal dialysis at home now every night. I am not guaranteed I will be able to continue this type of dialysis forever. I may have to return to hemodialysis which means going to a dialysis center 3 times a week for 4 hours. A quarter of your blood is removed and goes through a process to remove toxins and excess fluid. The transfer is done 4 times. It's brutal on my body and I can't do anything for the entire day.

You could be my Champion and give me an amazing gift which will give me more years to love my grandchildren and children, as well as other family and friends. I would be free to go camping with my family again. Maybe travel a little.

God's hand is in this journey I'm on. He has spared my life in the past and apparently he is guiding my path now.

In December, 2022 and even earlier my kidneys both began to fail. By the end of January, 2023, my kidneys were only functioning at 8 to 9%. I had to begin dialysis three times a week in order to stay alive.

I am working on being able to do dialysis at home, but I really need a kidney transplant to have a longer, healthier life. I want to see my grandchildren grow up and become happy, successful adults.

I am a Christian and born again. I believe that God has a plan for me and that He will provide my every need. Obviously He is not going to deposit money in my bank account. It is my responsibility to seek what I need and work for it.

I am unable to have a job now due to End Stage Kidney Disease and dialysis which drains me of all my energy, but maybe in the future I can get a part-time job once I get a kidney.

Right now my income consists only of Social Security Retirement. It's not a lot.

What I need help with is straight forward. I will be traveling to multiple transplant centers in order to get on their specific lists. It will be necessary to stay overnight prior to the full day appointment, usually starting early in the morning. I will have travel expenses of gas, food and hotel. Additionally I have medical bills already owed to Fresinius Dialysis Center in Columbia of over $2200 not paid by Medicare.
