Missions trip to Mexico ~ The Blounts

My summer plans are coming together, and I am very excited to be able to share them with you.

I believe God is calling me to go beyond the boundaries of Jacksonville and to share His love with people around the world. This summer, I have an opportunity to act on this calling. From June 1 to 5, I will be serving people in Mexico with teams from churches in Florida, Texas, and Arizona.

Our mission team will be working with the churches in Puerto Penasco, Mexico to support and encourage communities as they go through a process of community development. We will spend several days of our trip in a small fishing village just south of the Arizona border in Mexico, encouraging the community members as we share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will get to speak with local pastors and join them in worship and sharing the gospel. We’ll also spend a day ministering in women’s shelters, drug rehabilitation centers, prisons, and youth centers. I am so excited to go and serve the Lord by caring for these people in a small but crucial way, and I can’t wait to tell you about my experiences when I return!

Please ask God to give my team safe travel, caring and generous hearts and the right words to minister with. Your prayers are crucial for this trip. As Oswald Chambers wrote, “Prayer does not equip us for greater works; it is the greater work.”

Taking part in a mission trip is an incredibly spiritual experience. I am very excited to be a part of the work that God is already doing in Mexico, to grow in my faith, and to share those experiences with you when I return.
