Missions Trips 2023

Dear Friends and Family,

I am writing this letter to tell you about two very exciting opportunities I have been given! I have been invited by Gospel Facilitators International (GFI) to go on a short-term mission trip to Mexico over my spring break this year. The trip will be from March 31-April 9th and will be led by Pr. Kevin Cole, the founder of GFI, and the team will be made up of myself and 22 other peers of mine. This is my second year going on this trip. During our trip last year, we spent the majority of our time in Zacatecas where we stayed with local missionary Ben Elliot and his family. In addition to serving Ben and his family in whatever needs they had and his ministry, Sembradores de Cristo, we traveled through the mountains to serve local communities and mission sites by sharing the gospel, encouraging local ministers and assisting with projects such as painting, cleaning up, etc. I am very excited to go on this trip again because I am starting to make my own experiences in the mission field apart from going places alongside my parents. I want to take more of a leadership role on this trip because there are many more people on this team who haven’t been in the mission field yet and I want to be an example and help out as best as I can. Our team will be staying with Pastor Ben Elliot and his family once again in the same place. We will be doing more door-to-door evangelism and outreaches as well alongside other pastors and growing churches in the surrounding areas.

Through my time with Pastor Kevin Cole and GFI, I have also been given the opportunity by Judith and Mike Monteith, leaders of Come Alive World, to join them on a short-term trip to Scotland. This trip will take place from June 29th- July 8th and will be hosted by The Bridge Church in Ayr, Scotland. We will be working with two Kid’s Club locations doing Vacation Bible School (VBS), one in Ayr and one in Kilwinning, Scotland. This trip is a very exciting opportunity for me in particular because I am passionate about working with youth. I have never done VBS before and it will be a whole new learning experience for me but I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me, our team and the people of Scotland!

In closing, this is why I am reaching out to you. The total sum needed to cover both trips is $3,300. God calls people to serve in the mission field in different ways. Some are called to go, and some are called to send. I truly believe that these two mission trips will be life-changing, not just for those in whom we are serving, but for myself and also for those who are sending.
