Bring MAJOR! to the world!

You can help us bring Miss Major's story to the world.
MAJOR! is a new documentary film that follows the life and campaigns of Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, a 74-year-old Black transgender elder and activist who has been fighting for the rights of trans women of color for over 40 years.
With the incredible support and generosity of our communities, we've spent almost three years crafting a feature film that we hope reflects the spirit of Miss Major's life and legacy. We've made this film in alignment with our social justice principles, and have sought to center the narratives of trans women of color, who so rarely get to tell their own stories and control their own images. Now it's time to bring this project to the world, and specifically to audiences who see their own identities and life experiences reflected on screen.
In the next two weeks we're faced with steep expenses related to closed captioning; English, Spanish, and French subtitles; and DVD/Blu Ray mastering and screener packaging. Every dime we raise will go toward covering these costs, and ensure that MAJOR! is as broadly accessible to audiences as possible. Any funds we raise in excess of our goal will support the creation of the MAJORettes, a series of web-based shorts highlighting some of the wonderful material that couldn't be included in the final film.
We're a non-profit film production working in close collaboration with Miss Major and the film's participants to ensure community accountability. We hope you share our enthusiasm for Miss Major's incredible story, and thank you for your support!
