Recovery Fund for Miss Marissa

This past Sunday evening (5/29/16), as most were winding down from an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend, an unfortunate tragedy struck someone extremely close to me. On the way home from a camping trip my best friend, Marissa, in addition to a few other passengers were struck in a head-on collision by another vehicle.
As a result of the impact, Marissa flew from the back of the vehicle, hitting the front windshield and leaving her unconscious with a severe laceration across her face, a broken nose, and a ruptured ear drum. The accident proved to be fatal as a passenger from the other vehicle suffered critical injuries and has since passed away.
Although she is lucky to have made it out with her life, Marissa still has a long road of healing ahead of her, both physically and emotionally. She recently steered her talent in the direction of hand painted and vinyl interior/exterior signage. In the last few months, her work has taken an exciting and successful turn, garnering an impressive client base. However, financially speaking, this misfortune could not have come at a more laborious time. Being a new business owner, she relies primarily on herself to satisfy her clients needs, working sunup to sundown nearly every day. Unable to be in direct sunlight until the wounds on her face are fully healed and cleared by a physician, 75% of her work cannot be performed and she is forced to accept a drastic cut to her average income.
While she is healing, her friends and family would like to raise some money for Marissa in order to help her with medical bills, aftercare, and additional living expenses. We want her to focus on making a full recovery from this painful experience, without the burden of worrying to make ends meet. As Marissa is loved by so many people, she has already received an overwhelming amount of emotional support and for that we are beyond thankful.
