Missoula father brutally attacked

He is a new dad, and his baby has just turned 5 months, this is going to put a great financial strain on the family as well as the other children who are in the home.

At approximately 12:30 am July 21st, my fiancé was brutally attacked. He was on his way to the gas station when a man almost hit him with his vehicle. My fiancé then threw his hands up and said “woah, woah, woah”. The man proceeded to get out of his vehicle and walk over to my fiancé and repeatedly starting hitting him. The man then held my fiancé down on the ground when a woman passenger got out of the vehicle and proceeded to stomp on my fiancés head. She repeatedly kicked and smashed his face in while her father held my fiancé down. They took turns beating on him and grabbing his hair and smashing his head into the concrete. While my fiancé was bleeding and severely injured to the point of unconsciousness he started yelling for help, the bystanders then took out their phones and stood there recording while he took more beatings. Burton Bertsch and Julie Ann Bertsch have been arrested for aggravated assault causing permanent or life threatening bodily injury.

I also feel it necessary to point out that this man’s son, is Jonathan Bertsch, the man who shot Officer Wade Palmer.

As far as expenses and injuries go, my fiancé has suffered a broken nose, a fractured rib, stitches in his bottom lip where his teeth went thru. Future expenses haven’t been determined yet. He has a follow up appointment to check on his cheek bone, orbital socket in his eye, as well as a dental follow up for the bottom row of teeth that were kicked thru his lip. He has already missed a day of work and is unable to return until further notice.
