Missoula Robotics Team 2024 Season

Donation protected
The Missoula Robotics Team is the only FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition (FRC) team in the state. We are a student-run team. Raising enough money will let us not only build a robot, but go to competitions! Thank you so much for your generous support!

It costs us up to $50,000 to build our robot and attend two competitions, and even more money for additional competitions. Funds raised go towards robot parts, travel to competitions, shop equipment, and tools. When it comes to raising this money, the team has a student-led business team that works to secure funding through different avenues such as selling handmade metal and electronic crafts at craft fairs, working high school concession stands, and presenting to local businesses to recruit mentors and sponsors. Our GoFundMe campaign is an important and affordable means for reaching a wider public audience.

*$5,000 competition registration

*Up to $5,000 in robot parts

*$12,000 - $15,000 in travel fees for a 5-day trip with a team of 40

*$800 for t-shirts

*$500 for shop equipment and tools

With support from MCPS and students from MCPS high schools, the Missoula Robotics Team is an academic varsity sport that develops real-world engineering and STEM skills. We develop community minded young leaders who learn far beyond what the classroom can teach, such as important critical thinking and problem solving skills, teamwork, and time management and organization skills to meet deadlines. Our members support other robotics programs by mentoring at elementary and middle schools, and they volunteer time at the Missoula Food Bank and with other local organizations.

Your generous support will help ensure that our team will have the opportunity to compete in this year’s competition and build on our past success. In 2021, the team was awarded the Chairman's Award, one of the highest honors awarded at a regional competition. Every dollar counts – and whether you can make a donation of $10, $100, or $1,000 donation – we would be grateful for your support at whatever level you can provide. Donations to the team are tax-deductible, Tax ID# 81-0504312.
