It costs us up to $25,000 to build our robot and attend one competition, and even more dollars for additional competitions. Funds go toward robot parts, travel to the competition, shop equipment and tools. When it comes to raising this money the team has a student-led business team that works to secure funding through different avenues such as selling handmade metal and electronic crafts at craft fairs, working high school concession stands, presenting to local businesses to recruit mentors and sponsorships. Our GoFundMe campaign is an important and affordable means for reaching a wider public audience.
*$5,000 competition registration
*Up to $5,000 in robot parts
*$12-15,000 in travel fees for a 5 day trip with a team of 40
*$600.00 for t-shirts
*$500.00 for shop equipment and tools
With support from MCPS and students from MCPS high schools, The Missoula Robotics team is an academic varsity sport that develops real-world engineering and STEM skills. We develop community minded young leaders who learn far beyond what the classroom can teach, such as important critical thinking and problem solving skills, teamwork, time management and organization to meet deadlines. Our members support other robotics programs by mentoring at elementary and middle schools, and they volunteer time at the Missoula Food Bank and other local organizations.

Your generous support will help to ensure that our team will have the opportunity to compete in this year’s competition and build on past success. In 2021, the team was awarded the Chairman's Award, one of the highest honors awarded at a regional competition. Every dollar counts – and whether you can make a donation of $10 or $1,000 – we would be grateful for your support at whatever level you can provide.
