Misty’s Emergency Surgery Crowdfund

Hi everyone! I’m fundraising to be able to afford emergency surgery for my baby girl, Misty.

I adopted Misty in 2020, and she is my first and only fur baby. I’ve experienced an overwhelming amount of loss over the past 4 years, and Misty has helped me immensely through every single hardship. She is literally my best friend, and I can’t imagine my life without her in it. 

On Friday (4/12), I noticed she was acting lethargic, and she hadn’t touched her food or gone to her water fountain. I took her to the vet that afternoon for bloodwork, and was told that she most likely had some sort of infection. The vet sent me home with antibiotics and told me to bring her back on Monday (4/14) if she didn’t get better.

By Monday, she was in a worse condition than when I initially took her in, so I brought her back for a follow up. She still wasn’t eating or drinking, but the vet said she’s just recovering from the infection and this was normal. I was sent home with more antibiotics and an appetite stimulant. She still didn’t eat on Monday or Tuesday with the appetite stimulant, and she would only drink water if I brought her over to her fountain.

Today (4/17), I took her to a different vet for a second opinion. After running an x-ray, the vet confirmed that she had extreme inflammation from an infection that is not treatable with antibiotics, and that she needs immediate surgery. 

I am currently freelancing, and have taken a step back from work after losing my father and best friend within the span of a year. I have been able to support myself through freelance projects from last year, and I have only recently started working again since losing my best friend late last year. I’m currently in between projects, and I was barely able to afford the initial veterinary visits over the past week.

The cost will be around $3,500, not including the overnight hospital stays and additional fees. Misty and I appreciate any support in any way. Thank you for helping my angel get the care she needs ❤️‍
