Mitch Damchuk

Mitch Cannon Damchuk was a remarkable individual; he lit up every room he walked into and left an impression on each person who had the privilege of knowing him. Mitch was a kind, selfless, and hilarious soul—a rare person to find in this world, taken far too soon. His ability to make every person feel seen and valued was unmatched.

Over the August long weekend, Mitch and friends were visiting Detroit. On Friday August 2nd, Mitch was a pedestrian and was struck by a vehicle. The individual who hit him stayed at the scene until first responders arrived. Despite life saving efforts, Mitch ultimately passed in the hospital in the early morning of Saturday August 3rd.

Mitch is the adored fiancé of Kylie Fader. The beloved son of Joanne and Dave Damchuk. The cherished younger brother of Drake Damchuk. Mitch was a friend to many. His love for his family, friends, and dogs, was evident in everything he did. Mitch’s passion for life was reflected in his achievements, from his days as a dedicated football player to his work as a member of the Sentry Fire rescue team and a site supervisor at Nova Chemicals. Mitch was a true leader and touched the lives of the Sarnia community in more ways than one. The memories of Mitch's warmth and laughter will be cherished forever, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

In honour of Mitch’s life and legacy, we are raising funds to support those who are dearest to him and help his family during this extremely difficult time. In staying true to Mitch’s kind and nurturing nature, he would want us to come together and take care of his family. Mitch’s spirit of generosity and care for others will continue to live on through the contributions made in his name.
