Leslie Mitchell “Mitch” Baker passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on February 7th, 2023. Mitch was the firstborn child of Christopher Baker and Cheryl (Morrow) Baker. He came into the world on November 13th, 1983, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Missouri. As a young man, Mitch was an avid Scouter achieving the rank of life scout with Troop 763 based out of Blue Springs, Missouri. Mitch attended the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in Osceola, Missouri where he became a warrior in the tribe of Mic-O-Say as “Son of Big Blazing Night Wolf”. While working in the service industry Mitch was always known as a guy that provided service with a smile. His ability to strike up meaningful conversations with strangers meant there was never a shortage of new people in his life. Many of these relationships grew into lifelong friendships. Mitchell was a fierce friend and family member as well. He was willing to help those around him even when it came as an inconvenience to himself. Mitchell will be missed by all those who had considered him a friend. Mitchell is preceded in death by His Maternal Grandparents George and Dorothy Morrow. As well as his maternal Uncle John and Aunt Donna Morrow and his cousin their youngest child Evan Morrow. His Maternal Aunt Linda Morrow. Paternal Grandparents David and Margaret Baker. His paternal Uncle Pat and Aunt Tammy Baker. Mitchell is survived by his parents Chris and Cheryl Baker, his Brother Ryan Baker, Sister Chelsey Baker, spouse Clark Sousley, and his nephew and niece Damien and Adrianna Sousley. As well as Paternal Uncles and Aunts, Paul and Paula Baker of Nebraska, Chuck and Kathy Baker of Washington, Tom and Nancy Baker of Kansas City, Missouri, John and Becky Baker of Independence, Missouri, Jim Baker of Virginia, Sue Baker of Adrian, Missouri. Maternal Uncles and Aunt Mike Morrow of Blue Springs, Missouri, Pat and Barbara Morrow of Independence, Missouri. He also leaves behind many surviving first and second cousins on both sides of the family as well as many lifelong family friends whom he considered family.
